NEW DELHI: Shares of pharma MNC AstraZeneca Pharma India jumped over 6 per cent in Wednesday’s trade after the company reported an over three-times surge in June quarter profit.

The subsidiary of British-Swedish pharma company reported a net profit of Rs 10.6 crore for the first quarter, compared with Rs 2.7 crore profit reported for the corresponding quarter last year. The stock soared 10.21 per cent to hit a high of Rs 1,112.85 on BSE.

The company said its net sales for the quarter ended June 30 jumped 15.1 per cent YoY to Rs 138.10 crore, compared with Rs 120.03 crore year-on-year.

Shares of the company closed 3.75 per cent higher at Rs 1047.65 apiece on Wednesday at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
