Ashok Leyland slips nearly 3% as April sales dip

NEW DELHI: Ashok Leyland Ltd plunged as much as 2.89 per cent in trade on Monday, after the commercial vehicle manufacturer posted a drop of 21 per cent in sales during the month of April, 2014 as against the sales during the same month of previous year.

At 09:40 a.m.; Ashok Leyland was trading 1.3 per cent lower at Rs 22.15. It hit a low of Rs 21.80 and a high of Rs 22.35 in trade today.

The total sales during April, this year was 5,897 unit as compared to 7,487 units during April, last year.

The Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles sales decreased by 13.86% to 4,523 units during the month compared to 5,251 units during April, 2013, said media reports
