Arbitrator can’t grant relief to Deccan Chronicle: HC

DCHL were up over 1% even as the Bombay High Court in its verdict on BCCI’s appeal said that the arbitrator cannot grant relief to DCHL.

MUMBAI: Shares of Deccan Chronicle Holdings ( DCHL) were up over 1 per cent on Thursday even as the Bombay High Court in its verdict on BCCI’s appeal said that the arbitrator cannot grant relief to Deccan Chronicle Holdings.

BCCI had appealed in the High Court against the status quo ordered by the arbitrator in its dispute with DCHL. The arbitrator had given more time to DCHL to submit guarantees. The court said the arbitrator had exceeded jurisdiction by giving relief to DCHL.

At 11:45 am, the stock was at Rs 9.20, up 1.10 per cent on the NSE. It touched a high of Rs 9.45 and a low of Rs 8.80 in trade today.
