Ambani brothers had last month sewed a Rs 1,200 cr deal where ADAG will share its fibre-optic network to help RIL roll out its 4G telecom venture.

MUMBAI: Shares of Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group stocks, led by Reliance Communications, today surged by up to over 8 per cent in an overall upbeat stock market.

Reliance Communications scrip jumped 8.3 per cent to close the day at Rs 105.05 on the BSE.

Other group stocks also saw robust buying where Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd rose 4.41 per cent, while Reliance Infrastructure jumped 3.93 per cent, Reliance Power (3.01 per cent), Reliance Capital (3.35 per cent) and Reliance MediaWorks (1.54 per cent).

Reliance Infrastructure, through its special purpose vehicle (SPV) Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL) today successfully conducted Mumbai Metro's first trial run.

In the stock market, the BSE benchmark Sensex ended at 19,735.77, up 231.59 points or 1.19 per cent.
