Anil Ambani group companies stocks gain; RInfra climbs over 8%

MUMBAI: In-sync with an overall strong stock market, shares of Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group companies were in limelight today, with Reliance Infrastructure gaining over 8 per cent.

Shares of Reliance Infrastructure zoomed 8.58 per cent to Rs 344.20, while Reliance Capital soared 6.02 per cent to Rs 316.10. Reliance Communications jumped 5.67 per cent to close at Rs 121.15 at the BSE.

Other group entities such as Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd gained 4.89 per cent, Reliance Power (3.68 per cent) and Reliance Mediaworks (2.25 per cent).

Meanwhile, Anil Ambani today appeared as a prosecution witness before a Delhi court trying the 2G spectrum case.

Market analysts said the development ended the uncertainty about his appearance, while an overall recovery in the stock market also helped revive the sentiment in the group stocks.

Meanwhile, the benchmark Sensex surged 407.03 points today to close the day at 18,312.94.
