Ananth Gopalakrishnan takes charge as Sebi's whole-time member

Gopalakrishnan will handle varied portfolios, including market intermediaries supervision, foreign portfolio investors, integrated surveillance, and information technology.

With more than two decades of experience in banking and financial markets, Gopalakrishnan has been a member of various advisory committees constituted by the Sebi and RBI. Before joining Sebi, he was an associate professor at S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai.

Gopalakrishnan also worked with international banks such as Citibank, Deutsche Bank, and Standard Chartered Bank
