Adani more than doubles wealth, Poonawallas at number 3

Gautam Adani surged to the top spot in the IIFL Wealth-Hurun India Rich List of 2022, surpassing Mukesh Ambani with his wealth more than doubling in the past year.

Sun Pharma’s Dilip Shanghvi and Uday Kotak re-entered the list this year, replacing Kumar Mangalam Birla of Aditya Birla Group and Jay Chaudhary of Zscaler, according to the study based on estimates till August 30, 2022.

Vaccine maker Serum Institute’s promoters Cyrus Poonawalla and family moved up three ranks after their wealth increased by 25% from last year. HCL Technologies’ Shiv Nadar, SP Hinduja and family, and LN Mittal saw a decline in wealth during the period.
