Adani Enterprises to enter Nifty 50

Mumbai Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of the Adani Group, will be included in the Nifty 50 index in place of Shree Cement, the National Stock Exchange said on Thursday. After Adani Ports, this would be the second stock from billionaire Gautam Adani's group to be included in the Nifty. The changes become effective from September 30.

Adani Enterprises shares rallied over 88% so far this year, while that of Shree Cement plunged 21% during this period.

NSE has also made changes to various indices as part of its periodic review. The exchange has included stocks such as Adani Total Gas, Bharat Electronics, Hindustan Aeronautics, IRCTC, Mphasis, Samvardhana Motherson and Shree Cement in its Nifty Next 50 index.
