Adani Enterprises shares rally 4% on $686 million investment in not-for-profit healthcare initiative

The shares of Billionaire Gautam Adani-owned Adani Enterprises today rallied 4.3% to an intraday high of Rs 2,388.95 on the BSE On Monday, February 11 after the Adani family pledged to donate $686 million or Rs 6,000 crore to establish two large, not-for-profit hospitals in India, in partnership with Mayo Clinic Global Consulting.

The initiative seeks to enhance healthcare infrastructure and establish top-tier medical facilities across India.

Starting with two 1000-bed hospitals and medical colleges in Ahmedabad & Mumbai, we are on a mission to bring cutting-edge medical innovation across India. This is just the beginning for a healthier, stronger India - one campus at a time!,” stated Gautam Adani, while commenting on this initiative via his tweet on the social media platform X.



The inaugural hospital complex, Adani Health City, is set to be established in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with a second facility planned for Mumbai, India’s financial hub.

Developed under the Adani Group's not-for-profit healthcare division, these hospitals will feature state-of-the-art infrastructure. The campuses will also encompass super-specialty hospitals, medical colleges, and research centers.

The medical colleges will admit 150 undergraduate students annually, along with over 80 resident doctors, ensuring the training of future healthcare professionals who will contribute significantly to enhancing India's healthcare system. The research facilities will specialize in clinical research, artificial intelligence, and biomedical informatics.

Adani Enterprises share price performance

Over the past year, Adani Enterprises shares have declined by 25.88%. The year-to-date (YTD) performance showed a decrease of 6.80%. In the last six months, the price dropped by 25.25%, while in the past three months, it fell by 17.96%. Over the last month, the price recorded a slight increase of 0.35%.
