2G special court summons Sunil Mittal; Bharti Airtel plunges

Shyamal Ghosh, Asim Ghosh and Ravi Ruia, now accused in the case, are also summoned. The charges against them will be decided by the Special Court.

MUMBAI: Shares of Bharti Airtel came under intense selling pressure after the 2G special court summoned its Chairman Sunil Mittal in excess spectrum case on April 11, 2013.

Shyamal Ghosh, Asim Ghosh and Ravi Ruia, now accused in the case, are also summoned. The charges against them will be decided by the Special Court.

The 2G special court took cognizance of Bharti-Vodafone chargesheet.

Shares of Bharti Airtel plunged 6.2 per cent intraday, its biggest percentage drop since August 8, 2012.

At 03:00 p.m.; the stock was at Rs 293.70, down 4.64 per cent, on the BSE. It touched a high of Rs 311.80 and a low of Rs 284.30 in trade today.
