Zydus Wellness clocks 10% rise in net profit

AHMEDABAD: Zydus Wellness Ltd, a group company of Zydus Cadila, posted a 10% rise in net profit for the first quarter of the current financial year 2011-12.
The company's profit grew by Rs 8 crore to Rs 84.5 crore. The net sales during this period remained flat at Rs 87.37 crore, compared to Rs 87.32 crore during the same period last year.
The stock price of the Ahmedabad-based consumer company fell by 2.84% on Monday - a day when Sensex was down by 0.3%. The stock opened at Rs 719.95 and closed at Rs 699.50.
Zydus Wellness, is a part of the Rs 3900-crore Zydus Cadila Group. Zydus Cadila is fifth largest drug company in India. Zydus Wellness is maker of sugar substitute product - Sugar Free, Ever Yuth, Nutralite and recently introduced malt-based food drink ActiLife. The company aims to achieve Rs 500 crore turnover by 2013-14.
