Zee Entertainment net at Rs 129 cr
Zee Entertainment Enterprises reported a net profit of Rs 128.8 crore and revenue of Rs 649.3 crore for the quarter ended March 2010.

MUMBAI: ZEE Entertainment Enterprises reported a net profit of Rs 128.8 crore and revenue of Rs 649.3 crore for the quarter ended March 2010.
For the financial year to March 31, the company’s net profit was Rs 477.5 crore, on Rs 2,196.6 crore of revenue. Zee’s year-ago numbers are not comparable with this result because during the just-concluded year the company underwent a restructuring exercise.
It acquired six channels from sister concern Zee News and another two from ETC Networks in exchange for shares. Financials of the acquired channels was included in the January-March results.
On Wednesday Zee Entertainment’s board also approved the acquisition of INX Media’s general entertainment channel 9X. The channel launched by former head of Star Group, Peter Mukerjea, has so far failed to crack into the top five channels in its segment.
