Venus Remedies Q1 net up 24.77 pc at Rs 13.6 crore

NEW DELHI: Drug firm Venus Remedies today said its net profit rose by 24.77 per cent year-on-year to Rs 13.6 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 10.9 crore for the same period last fiscal, Venus Remedies said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 98.8 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, from Rs 82.1 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Shares of Venus Remedies were trading at Rs 254.40 apiece on the BSE in the late afternoon today, down 2.60 per cent from their previous close.
