The maker of McDowell's No 1 and Royal Challenge whisky saw its volume sales increase 0.4% at 27.3 million cases in the April-June period.

MUMBAI: United Spirits on Thursday reported net profit of Rs 19.92 crore for the quarter ended June, against loss of Rs 61.8 crore a year ago, helped by higher sales of premium brands.

India's largest liquor firm also reported 10.6% year on year increase in its total income at Rs 2,020 crore.

During the quarter, United Spirits started selling brands from the portfolio of its new owner, the world's largest spirits maker Diageo, adding Rs 42 crore, or sales growth by 240 basis points.

The maker of McDowell's No 1 and Royal Challenge whisky saw its volume sales increase 0.4% at 27.3 million cases in the April-June period.

EBIDTA margin at 10.1% improved by 240 basis points as prestige and above brands grew 17% in value and 5.4% by volume.
