United Breweries June quarter net surges two-fold to Rs 76 cr

NEW DELHI: UB Group firm United Breweries Ltd on Wednesday said net profit surged over two-fold to Rs 76.13 crore for the quarter ended June 30.
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 775.63 crore for the quarter ended June 30, compared to Rs 565.23 crore in the same period of the corresponding fiscal, United Breweries said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company's board has recommended a dividend of 36 per cent, or Rs 0.36 per equity share of Rs 1, for the year ended March 31, 2010.
During the June quarter, the company raised Rs 422.78 crore through the issue of shares on a rights basis. It utilised the amount for repayment of cash credit, overdraft accounts and for capital expenditure, it said.
Shares of United Breweries today closed at Rs 235 on the BSE, up 0.13 per cent from its previous close.
