Tata Consumer Q1 Results
FMCG major Tata Consumer Products on Friday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 427 crore for the April-June quarter of FY27, a nearly 28% year-on-year (YoY) rise from the Rs 334 crore net profit reported in the same period last year.

The maker of Tata Salt saw its revenue from operations rise nearly 12% YoY to Rs 5,349 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 4,779 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26. Total expenses meanwhile rose around 11% YoY to Rs 4,829 crore during the quarter under review.

Sequentially, Tata Consumer’s net profit rose around 2% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) from Rs 419 crore reported in Q4 FY26. Revenue from operations however declined 2% QoQ while total expenses slightly decreased from Rs 4,845 crore in the fourth quarter of FY26.

Tata Consumer said its 12% revenue growth, or 9% in constant currency (CC) terms, was driven by a growth of 13% in India business and 5% in international segment, although its non-branded business saw a 10% decline. Improvement in operating performance was aided by lower tea cost in India partly offset by elevated coffee cost in US, inflationary pressure on key input costs, and higher investments behind brands, the FMCG major said.

The company’s net profit margin improved to 7.99% in Q1 FY27, from 7.8% in Q4 and 6.94% in Q1 of FY26. Operating margin improved on a YoY basis but decreased sequentially to 10.56% during the first quarter of FY27. Its net worth rose 7% YoY to Rs 2.26 lakh crore.

“We delivered yet another quarter of double-digit topline growth, backed by volume growth,” said Tata Consumer Products Managing Director and CEO Sunil D’Souza. He explained that the India business delivered robust underlying volume growth, reflecting continued focus on execution, category expansion and innovation. “Our ‘Growth’ businesses performed very well and have scaled their overall contribution to the India business. Tata Sampann continued to record exceptional growth driven by performance across multiple categories- dry fruits, cold-pressed oils as well as core pulses and spices. The Ready-To-Drink business delivered a strong quarter with strong performance across core brands as well as new launches,” he added.

The company’s innovation momentum continues with 14 new launches in Q1 and a roadmap in place to fuel our growth agenda this year, the executive said, adding, “We remain focused on delivering sustainable profitable growth by strengthening and scaling our core and growth businesses and building a future ready portfolio.”
