NEW DELHI: Ahmedabad-based air cooler company Symphony today reported a 36.58 per cent jump in standalone net profit at Rs 39.28 crore for the second quarter ended September on account of higher sales.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 28.76 crore in the year-ago period.

Symphony Ltd's net sales during the quarter under review went up 31.33 per cent to Rs 150.27 crore as against Rs 114.42 crore in the same quarter of the last fiscal, the company said in a BSE filing.

"We are witnessing buoyant demand in domestic market, international business and centralised air cooling across geographies... Newly lunched 5 models of i-Touch have received overwhelming response," Symphony Executive Director Nrupesh Shah said.

Meanwhile, in a separate filing, Symphony said its board today announced a second interim dividend of Rs 1 per equity share having face value of Rs 2 each.
