Posts a 13.97% rise in turnover during the 1st half of FY12 to Rs 8314 million.

Sutlej Textiles and Industries Ltd has reported a 9.66% rise in its turnover for the quarter ended September 30, 2011, to Rs 4177 million and a 13.97% rise in the turnover during the 1st half of FY12 to Rs 8314 million. This is compared to the figures of Rs 3809 million and Rs 7295 million reported during the Q2 of last year as well as in the first half of FY-11, respectively.
Commenting on the financial results, C S Nopany, chairman, Sutlej Textiles and Industries, said, “The textile industry is going through difficulties due to high volatility in rates of raw materials, difficult economic conditions and slowing growth in developed economies and reduced purchasing power due to high inflation in India. Hardening interest rates and tight liquidity had an adverse impact. I am glad that Sutlej has been able to minimize the impact of depressed market conditions and is geared up to meet the challenges of difficult market conditions.”
