Surya Roshni Q4 net up 22 pc at Rs 26.63 crore

MUMBAI: Electrical bulbs, tubelights and steel pipes manufacturer SuryaRoshni today posted a 22 rise in net profit for the quarter ended March 31 to Rs 26.63 crore against Rs 21.81 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.

Its gross sales for the quarter stood at Rs 965 crore, up 12.72 per cent, compared to Rs 856.13 crore in Q4 FY12, the company said in a statement.

For the full year, its net profit grew by 46.6 per cent to Rs 77 crore as compared to Rs 52.59 crore in FY12.

Surya Roshni's gross sales for the year FY13 grew by 18.5 per cent to Rs 3,777.76 crore against Rs 3187.54 crore in previous fiscal.

"The current year results reflect strong performance from lighting and steel divisions despite challenging economic environment," company's Managing Director B Raju said.

He said the company's efforts on technical upgradation and new product launches had yielded strong foothold in lighting sector like LED and high mast lighting and hollow section in steel.

During the year, the lighting business segment showed a growth of 18.60 per cent to Rs 953.56 crore, while the steel business posted a 18.49 per cent growth to Rs 2824.20 crore.

"We look forward to continued growth momentum in current year also," Raju added.
