MUMBAI: Plastic products maker Supreme Industries today reported a 12 per cent jump in net profit for the fourth quarter ended June 30 at Rs 105.12 crore from Rs 93.86 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The company, which follows July-June financial year, posted a 14.48 per cent rise in total income during the quarter at Rs 1,053.68 crore as compared to Rs 920.35 crore in the year-ago period.

For the fiscal 2012-13, consolidated net profit stood at Rs 268.41 crore as against Rs 232.37 crore in the previous financial year.

Total income from operations for the year was at Rs 3,403.98 crore as against Rs 2,927.89 crore in FY12, Supreme Industries said.

The company has planned a capex of Rs 250 crore for FY14 to put up a plastic piping system and protective packaging system at Kharagpur in West Bengal.

The capex will also include the purchase of office premises at Delhi, Ernakulam, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Indore besides other investments.

The company plans to increase its export business in the next 4-5 years to 7-8 per cent of the total turnover as compared to 2.5-3 per cent of the turnover at present. It expects a 14 per cent growth in terms of volume during FY14.

Supreme Industries offers a wide and comprehensive range of plastic products and operates in various segments including plastics piping systems, protective packaging products, industrial components, material handling systems and cross laminated polyethylene films.
