For the half year ended September 30, 2010, PAT grew to Rs 338.39 crore, up by 35.16 per cent compared to Rs 250.36 crore in the same period of the previous year.
The total income for the quarter was up by 30.79 per cent to Rs 434.03 crore, as against Rs 331.86 crore in the same period of previous year.
For the half year-end, the total income stood at Rs 885.75 crore up by 39.77 per cent, compared to Rs 633.74 crore during the same period of the previous year.
The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the quarter ending September 30, was 36.43 per cent at Rs 332.30 crore, compared to Rs 243.56 crore in the previous quarter.
For the half year period ending September 30, 2010 the EBITDA grew by 48.17 per cent to Rs 692.19 crore, against Rs 467.17 crore in the same period of previous year.
Sun TV said that against total projected utilisation of Rs 572 crore from Initial Public Offering funds, Rs 355.77 crore has been utilised towards capitalisation of subsidiaries.
A sum of Rs 104.54 crore was invested in launch of new channels and purchase of new equipment and upgrading existing equipment and Rs 62.34 crore towards construction of owned corporate office in Chennai.
The balance proceeds after meeting the IPO expenses have been invested in banks, the statement added.
