State Bank of Hyderabad Q3 net up 20% at Rs 301 crore

Public lender State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) reported 20.42 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 301 crore for third quarter ended in December.

HYDERABAD: Public lender State Bank of Hyderabad ( SBH) today reported 20.42 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 301 crore for third quarter ended in December.

Operating income for the quarter stood at Rs 1,099 crore against Rs 990 crore in the same period of the last fiscal, SBH said in a statement.

Deposits increased by 23.70 per cent to Rs 96, 130 crore over Rs 77,714 crore as on December, 2010. Advances rose to Rs 71,170 crore over Rs 59,514 crore as on December 2010, it added.

Per employee business increased to Rs 10.85 crore in the quarter from Rs 9.82 crore as on December, 2010.

Agriculture sector advances grew by Rs 1,555 crore during the nine months ended December 31, taking the portfolio to Rs 12,230 crore. MSME sector advances grew by Rs 1009 crore during the period, taking the portfolio to Rs 11,867 crore.

SBH's branch network increased to 1,407. During the current financial year, the lender opened 92 branches, the statement said.

Under Financial Inclusion Plan, the bank has been allotted 1,033 unbanked villages with population of 2,000 and above in 36 districts in four states - Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat, it added.
