KOCHI: Kerala-based Sree Sakthi Paper Mills Ltd registered a 13 per cent jump in revenues during the first quarter of the 2011-12 financial year, resulting in a 16.5 per cent rise in profits despite a sharp rise in raw material prices.

While production increased by 2 per cent to 19,619 tonnes in the quarter, the company's top-line grew by 13 per cent from Rs 43.88 crore in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year to Rs 49.65 crore in April-June, 2011, on account of higher sales realisation.

The expansion-cum-modernisation of the Edayar plant here without any addition to equity capital is progressing as per schedule, a company press release said.

Installation of a Krima Disperser is slated for August, 2011, while the boiler-cum-cogen plant is scheduled for commissioning by October, 2011. The modernisation is expected to further boost the company's profitability.
