Reliance Power’s net profit rose 15% to Rs 276 in Q3

Mumbai: Reliance Power’s net profit rose 15% year-on-year to Rs 276 crore in the quarter ended December, driven by better output at its electricity generating units.

The company’s total income for the third quarter of 2016-17 was Rs 2,985 crore, up 17%.

The company said its 3,960 mw-ultra mega power project at Sasan in Gujarat operated at 89% capacity. The 1,200-mw Rosa Power Plant operated at 96% availability, while the 600 mw-Butibori Power Plant operated at 97%.

The 45 mw-wind capacity at Vashpet in Maharashtra, generated 8.5 million units, operating at availability of 98%, and the 100 mw-concentrated solar power project at Dhursar in Rajasthan generated 21 million units, operating at availability of 98%, the Reliance Group company said.

The Anil Ambani-led company has a power generating capacity of 5,945 mw.

The company said it clocked its highest output of coal at 5.56 tonnes in the quarter.
