PVR Q2 net profit down 5% to Rs 29.13 crore

MUMBAI: Ajay Bijli-promoted India’s largest multiplex company PVR has posted a net profit of Rs 29.13 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2016, down a 5% compared to Rs 30.70 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Income from operations during the quarter stood at Rs 554.21 crore, out of which net box-office collection of the comparable properties was at Rs 204.79, down 12 per cent. Net box-office revenue from all the properties was up 4 per cent to Rs 278.06 crore.

Revenue from food and beverages was at Rs 139.63 crore, up 17 per cent, while sponsorship revenue was up 35% at Rs 62.43 crore.

EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 97.90 crore, compared to Rs 98.91 crore in the year ago period. EBITDA margin was down at 17.5 per cent, from 20.4 per cent a year ago.

Shares of PVR closed at Rs 1214.65 apiece on BSE on Thursday, down 1.18% from its previous close.
