Procter & Gamble Q3 FY'10 profit up 26 pc at Rs 44 crore

Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care (PGHH), a subsidiary of FMCG major P&G, on Friday said its net profit has jumped by 26 per cent to Rs 44 crore in the third quarter ended March 31, 2010.

MUMBAI: Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care (PGHH), a subsidiary of FMCG major P&G, on Friday said its net profit has jumped by 26 per cent to Rs 44 crore in the third quarter ended March 31, 2010.

The company's total sales grew by 15 per cent to Rs 205 crore during the quarter as against Rs 178 crore in the year-ago period, PGHH said in a statement in Mumbai.

The firm said healthcare and feminine hygiene businesses were the major growth drivers in the third quarter.

The sales of feminine hygiene business increased by 16 per cent to Rs 125 crore led by strong growth in Whisper Ultra, Whisper Maxi and Whisper Choice.

Healthcare sales was also up by 15 per cent at Rs 80 crore led by growth of VICKS VapoRub and VICKS cough drops.

"The double-digit growth is driven by a strong focus on consumer-meaningful innovations. We continue to focus on delighting our consumers with superior product benefits, building strong partnerships, achieving a deeper distribution and cost management," PGHH's managing director Shantanu Khosla said.
