PowerGrid profit-after-tax up 28.64 pc at Rs 703.18 cr in Q1

NEW DELHI: State-run transmission company PowerGrid Corporation reported a growth of 28.64 per cent in profit-after-tax to Rs 703.18 crore in April-June, 2010, from Rs 5,46.61 crore in the same period last year.
PowerGrid Corporation's total income increased by 18.48 per cent to Rs 2,149.69 crore during the three-month period ended June 30 this year, compared to Rs 1,814.33 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Shares of PowerGrid Corp today closed at Rs 99.60, up 0.76 per cent, on the BSE.
