PowerGrid net jumps 21 pc to Rs Rs 591 cr in Oct-Dec

NEW DELHI: Central transmission utility PowerGrid Corp today reported a net profit of Rs 591.1 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, an increase of 21 per cent over the same period last fiscal.
Total revenues rose by 21 per cent to Rs 2,052.1 crore compared to that in the same quarter last fiscal, PowerGrid said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
PowerGrid had earned Rs 1,690.6 crore revenue from operations in the quarter ended December 31, 2009, it added.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 95.70 on BSE, down by 2.20 per cent ovetr the previous close.
