Power Grid Q2 profit rises 8% YoY to Rs 2,309 crore, meets Street estimates

Power Grid Corporation of India on Monday reported a 7.86 per cent year-on-year rise in profit at Rs 2,309.49 crore for the quarter ended September 30. The power utility firm had posted a profit of Rs 2,141.04 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Analysts in an ET NOW poll had estimated the profit figure at Rs 2,280 crore.

Revenue from operations increased to Rs 8,283.03 crore in Q2FY19 over Rs 7,252.84 crore in Q2FY18.


Earlier during the day, shares of the company closed 1.82 per cent down at Rs 186.40.

Total expenditure of the company increased to Rs 6168.34 crore during the quarter under review against Rs 4880.25 crore in the same period last year.
