PGHHCL posts Rs 203 cr net profit in June 2013 year-end

MUMBAI: Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Healthcare Ltd today said it has registered a net profit of Rs 203 crore for the year ended June 2013, as compared to Rs 181 crore in previous year.

The company said it has maintained its growth momentum by delivering total sales of Rs 1,685 crore in the year ending June 2013 as against Rs 1,295 crore in the previous year, thus achieving a robust growth of 30 percent.

Growth in net sales was seen across all businesses - feminine, hygiene and healthcare.

The company maintained tight cost control and offset inflation and currency devaluation which helped deliver profit before tax growth of 28 percent at Rs 286 crore.

The profit after tax for the year is up 12 percent, as higher effective tax rates impacted net margins.

Profit after tax for the quarter ended June 2013 was Rs 52 crore as against Rs 35 crore last year. The profit before tax for the same quarter stood at Rs 77 crore as against Rs 46 crore last year.

"Our strong year-over-year sales growth is a result of continued sales momentum across categories, driven by our focus on improving the lives of our consumers through superior product propositions," PGHHCL managing director Shantanu Khosla said.
