NFL Q4 net profit jumps two-fold to Rs 56 crore
NFL's net profit more than doubled to Rs 56.87 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2012, compared to the same period last year.
The fertiliser producer had a net profit of Rs 26.72 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
Total income of the PSU increased to Rs 2,088 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 1,607.96 crore in the year ago period, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
For the year ended March 31, 2012, net profit fell by over 8 per cent to Rs 126.73 crore as against Rs 138.50 crore in the 2010-11 fiscal, it said.
Total income in 2011-12 fiscal increased to Rs 7,309.93 crore from Rs 5,801.87 crore in the previous fiscal.
In a separate filing, the company said that its board has recommended a dividend of Rs 0.78 per share (face value of Rs 10 each) for 2011-2012 fiscal.
Shares of the company closed up by 5.73 per cent at Rs 81.15 apiece on the BSE today.
The PSU manufactures urea, bio-fertilisers and industrial products such as nitric acid, ammonium nitrate. It has has also started marketing of special fungus based bio-fertiliser 'Mycorrhiza'.
