NDTV Q1 net loss widens at Rs 26.09 crore

NDTV today said its consolidated net loss has widened to Rs 26.09 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.

MUMBAI: Broadcasting major New Delhi Television ( NDTV) today said its consolidated net loss has widened to Rs 26.09 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.

The company had reported a net loss of Rs 17.98 crore in the corresponding period last year, NDTV said in a filing to the BSE.

However, on sequential basis, it was lower as the company had registered a net loss of Rs 41.33 crore in the January-March 2012 quarter.

Total income from operations was also lower at Rs 106.83 crore in the reported quarter from Rs 109.93 crore in the April-June 2011 quarter and Rs 135.36 crore in January-March 2012 period.

On standalone basis, the company registered a net loss of Rs 22.71 crore in the first quarter of FY13 as against a net profit of 9.81 crore in the corresponding period last year. On sequential basis, the company's net loss stood at Rs 15.87 crore in the January-March 2012 quarter.

Total income from operations on standalone basis stood at Rs 82.77 crore in the quarter under review, while the same stood at Rs 95.84 crore in April-June 2012 period and Rs 98.06 crore in January-March 2012 period.
