National Fertilizers Q3 net loss at Rs 12.42 cr

The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 54.75 crore in the year-ago period.

NEW DELHI: State-owned National Fertilizers Ltd today reported a net loss of Rs 12.42 crore in the third quarter ended December 2012 as some of the units were shutdown for capacity enhancement and conversion of gas-based feedstock.

The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 54.75 crore in the year-ago period.

Net income also declined to Rs 1,819.97 crore during the quarter against Rs 2,044.42 crore in the same period last year, National Fertilzers Ltd ( NFL) said in a BSE filing.

The performance of the company took a beating because some of the units remained closed during the quarter for conversion of gas-based feedstock and commissioning of energy saving and urea capacity enhancement projects, it said.

National Fertilizers has two manufacturing plants in Punjab and one each in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.

Shares of the company settled lower by 0.49 per cent at Rs 70.65 on the BSE.
