Murugappa Group company Carborundum Universal Q1 net profit surges 25.5%

CHENNAI: Murugappa Group company Carborundum Universal Ltd (CUMI) today recorded a 25.5 per cent surge in net profit at Rs 36.24 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2015.

The Chennai-based abrasives manufacturer registered a net profit of Rs 27.36 crore during the same period of the previous fiscal.

For the 12 month period ended March 31, 2015, net profit of the company was at Rs 132.60 crore.

Total income from operations for the April-June 2015 quarter marginally slipped to Rs 495.79 crore from Rs 521.90 crore during corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

For 2014-15 fiscal, total income from operations was at Rs 2,050.17 crore.

Shares of the company ended at Rs 182.05 a piece down 1.06 per cent over previous close on BSE.
