Milky Mist Dairy Food posted record quarterly revenue and gross profit, driven by protein-rich products, yoghurt demand and expanding distribution across markets.
Milky Mist Dairy Food reported a 41.6% year-on-year increase in revenue from operations in the September quarter, driven by volume growth and demand for value-added dairy products, the company said in a statement.

The company's revenue and gross profit reached record quarterly highs in the second quarter of FY27, it said in a release.

Growth was supported by steady demand across its product portfolio, both in value and volume terms, expansion into new markets and rising consumption of value-added dairy products. Its protein-focused range was the fastest-growing segment, while yoghurt remained its fastest-growing category during the quarter.

“Despite prevailing agricultural inflation, the impact of El Nino and geopolitical uncertainties, we have achieved higher revenue growth, improved margins and profitability,” said K Rathnam, whole-time director and chief executive officer.

Actions against the unorganised sector have helped improve our paneer volumes by around 5%, he said, adding that the regulator’s enforcement activities will benefit the sector in the long run.

For the first half of FY27, revenue from operations grew 42.5% year-on-year, while EBITDA increased 62.9%. Profit after tax rose 308.4%, the company said.

Milky Mist has been expanding its protein-focused portfolio, launching Skyr and Greek yoghurt in four-pack formats during the quarter, following the introduction of high-protein paneer cubes in the previous quarter. It has also added high-protein lactose-free milk to its portfolio, using existing manufacturing facilities.

The company's priorities include expanding its value-added product portfolio, strengthening distribution, improving capacity utilisation and increasing investments in milk procurement and manufacturing to sustain growth.
