Milky Mist Q1 Results: Profit zooms nearly 9 times YoY to Rs 65 crore; revenue rises 44%

The company said growth was broad-based across its product portfolio, led by strong demand in summer-linked categories such as ice cream, curd and yogurt. The extended summer season, especially in South India, supported sales during the quarter.
Gross profit rose 56.1% year-on-year to Rs 333.02 crore, while gross margin improved to 34.21% from 31.46% a year earlier. EBITDA rose 74.5% to Rs 144.89 crore from Rs 83.02 crore. EBITDA margin expanded to 14.88% from 12.24%.
Milky Mist Dairy Food made its stock market debut earlier this month after a successful IPO. The stock listed with a premium of 18% over the issue price of Rs 140.
Milky Mist said the gross profit expansion was driven by higher volume growth, better product mix and pricing ability. It also said operational efficiencies helped EBITDA growth and margin improvement.
Paneer remained the company’s largest contributor, with revenue growing 34% year-on-year. Cheese revenue rose 38%, while curd grew 27%. Ice cream revenue grew 60%, and yogurt was the standout category with 153% growth.
During the quarter, the company also commissioned a new cheddar cheese plant with an installed capacity of 120 metric tonnes per day.
Dr K Rathnam, whole-time director and CEO of Milky Mist Dairy Food, said the company started FY27 with strong performance as revenue from operations grew 43.6% to Rs 973.45 crore.
“As we look ahead to FY27, our focus will remain on driving profitable growth through portfolio expansion, operating discipline and investments in our manufacturing and distribution capabilities,” he said. Rathnam added that the company will continue to expand its value-added food range, strengthen brands and distribution, and increase its presence across markets.
Milky Mist is a value-added dairy and packaged food company with products across paneer, cheese, curd, butter, ghee, yogurt, ice cream and UHT products. It also sells frozen, ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook foods and chocolates.
The company said its revenue grew at a CAGR of 31.26% between FY24 and FY26, reaching Rs 3,138.36 crore in FY26. In FY26, it was the largest private packaged paneer brand in India’s organised market, the largest private packaged cheese brand in South India and among the top two private packaged yogurt brands in India.
