Marico posts Q3 net profit of Rs 84.11 crore
FMCG firm Marico today reported consolidated net profit of Rs 84.11 crore for the third quarter ended December, 2011.

NEW DELHI: FMCG firm Marico today reported consolidated net profit of Rs 84.11 crore for the third quarter ended December, 2011.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 69.52 crore in the corresponding period of previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company during the quarter rose to Rs 1,057.81 crore, Marico said in a filing to the BSE. It stood at Rs 817.73 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
The results are not comparable as certain items, such as reversal of excess income tax provisions, expenses on Kaya Clinic and excise duty on coconut oil of different sizes, were included in financials of Q3 FY12 and Q3 FY11, it said.
Consumer Products Business in India (CPB) achieved a turnover of Rs 716 crore in the third quarter ended December, 2011, it said.
The segment grew mainly driven by coconut oils segment, share gain in value added hair oils and expansion in Saffola's franchise, it added.
During the period under review, Marico said its International FMCG Business Group (IBG) clocked a turnover of Rs 267 crore.
"This denotes growth of about 39 per cent over Q3 FY2010-11 boosted by the acquisition of 85 per cent equity in International Consumer Products in Vietnam in February, 2011," the company said.
Marico's IBG comprises various geographies, including Bangladesh and South Africa.
The company said it plans to invest about Rs 130-150 crore in capital assets in the current fiscal.
On a standalone basis, the company posted a net profit of Rs 87.36 crore for the third quarter. It stood at Rs 56.29 crore in the same period previous financial year.
Shares of Marico today closed at Rs 153.40 on the BSE, up 2.47 per cent from previous close.
