Malar Hospitals Q4 net at Rs 0.6 cr

MUMBAI: Fortis Healthcare's subsidiary Fortis Malar Hospitals Ltd today reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 0.6 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010.

The company had reported a loss of Rs 2.7 crore in the corresponding period an year ago, Fortis Malar Hospitals said in a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

During the quarter under consideration, the total income of the company rose by 37.1 per cent to Rs 5.07 crore against Rs 3.7 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, the filing said.

For the financial year ended March 31, 2010, it reported a net profit of Rs 3.5 crore. In the previous fiscal, it had posted a loss of Rs 1.75 crore.

During the fiscal ended March 31, 2010, the company's total income increased to Rs 9.65 crore, registering a growth of over 50 per cent from Rs 6.41 crore in the previous fiscal, it added.
