Lanco reports 136 crore loss in Q2 FY'13

Less utilisation of power generation capacity due to inadequate fuel supply resulted in the loss.


NEW DELHI: Lanco Infratech reported a loss of 135.9 crore in second quarter ended September 2012 against a loss of 2,59.5 crore in the same period last fiscal.

Less utilisation of power generation capacity due to inadequate fuel supply resulted in the loss, company's chief operating officer (finance) T Adi Babu said on Saturday.

The company however, posted a 68 per cent rise in revenue for the second quarter to 3,184 crore from 1896 crore in the same period last year.

Babu said the company's units at Kondapalli project and Amarkantak projects were running at low capacity due o non-availability of gas. The company's Anpara-C project in Uttar Pradesh was also operating at low levels due to lack of adequate coal supply.

The order book of the company's engineering, procurement and construction division stood at 28,500 crore.
