Kajaria Ceramics Q1 net up 53 pc at Rs 17.36 cr

NEW DELHI: Tile maker Kajaria Ceramics today posted a 53 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 17.36 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 as against the same period last fiscal.
During the quarter, the firm's net sales stood at Rs 271.31 crore, a 39 per cent jump from the previos fiscal, Kajaria Ceramics said in a statement.
On a standalone basis, the company posted a 49 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 16.83 crore during the quarter as against the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
The company had a standalone net sales of Rs 269.76 crore recording 38 per cent jump from the year-ago period.
Shares of Kajaria Ceramics closed at Rs 103.55 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 0.83 per cent up from previous close.
