JHS Svendgaard's Q1 net rises 325%

The firm’s consolidated revenue for the June quarter of 2010 stood at Rs 30.98 crore as against Rs 7.37crore for the same quarter last year.

New Delhi: JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd, India’s leading manufacturer of oral hygiene products, has registered a 325.9% increase in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2010 at Rs 3.07 crore as against Rs 0.72 crore for the same period last year.

The firm’s consolidated revenue for the June quarter of 2010 stood at Rs 30.98 crore as against Rs 7.37crore for the same quarter last year, up 320.2%. A pick-up in economic activity, global demand trends and increased production helped the company register encouraging growth.

There has been a fairly balanced contribution of the two product categories - FMCG (60%) and personal care products (40%) that JHS Svendgaard offers to its global and domestic clients - to its bottomline. The FMCG products accounted for Rs 18.87 crore while personal care products contributed Rs 12.04 crore to the company’s revenues this year.

Nikhil Nanda, managing sirector of JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd, said, “Our quality adhering to global standards is reflected in our improved financial performance consistently over the years. And our diversification plans into other non-food FMCG products will complement our customers’ trust in us and our growth plans.”
