ITC Q2 net profit up 10.4% YoY at Rs 2,500 crore

Tobacco-to-FMCG conglomerate ITC reported a net profit of Rs 2,262.50 crore in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal, and Rs 2,384.67 crore in the previous quarter, the company said in a statement.

NEW DELHI: ITC reported 10.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth in net profit at Rs 2500 crore for the quarter ended September 2016, which was slightly lower than a Rs 2,670 crore estimate that analysts had projected in an ETNow poll.

The tobacco-to-FMCG conglomerate had reported a net profit of Rs 2,262.50 crore for the corresponding quarter of last financial year and Rs 2,384.67 crore for the previous quarter, the company said in a statement.

At 02:00 pm, the ITC stock was trading 0.6 per cent lower at Rs 237.20. It hit a low of Rs 233.60 and a high of Rs 240.95 during the session.

ITC's cigarette volume rose 7.1 per cent to Rs 8,530 crore from Rs 7,963.10 crore reported for the year-ago period.

Total income from operations increased from Rs 13,003.86 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2015, to Rs 14,091.96 crore during the quarter ended September 30, 2016.
