Infosys BPO unit posts 3.3% revenue growth

MYSORE: The business process outsourcing subsidiary of Infosys on Friday reported 3.3 per cent sequential growth in fiscal third-quarter revenues.

For the three months ended December 31, Infosys BPO revenues rose to $136.52 million (Rs 846 crore) from $132.13 million (Rs 819 crore) in the previous quarter, the company said in a statement.

On a yearly basis, the BPO sales rose 9.07 per cent. On Friday, Infosys, which is India’s second- largest software company, beat expectations, with a 21.4 per cent rise in fiscal third quarter profit.

The BPO unit that accounts for about 5 per cent of the company’s overall revenues had 26,475 employees at the end of the December quarter.

Gautam Thakkar, the chief executive of Infosys BPO had told ET last year that the division was evaluating acquisition opportunities in sourcing and procurement, mortgage processing and healthcare segments. Infosys BPO acquired the Australia based Portland Group in 2011.
