Info Edge Q2 profit climbs 18 pc to Rs 33.3 cr

New Delhi: Internet firm Info Edge, which owns job portal Naukri.com, today posted a jump of 18 per cent in profit after tax at Rs 33.3 crore for the three months ended September 2012.

In the year-ago period, the entity had a profit after tax of Rs 28.2 crore.

Announcing the results, the company in a statement said its net sales in the 2012 September quarter climbed to Rs 106.5 crore from Rs 91.1 crore in the same period a year ago.

Besides, Naukri,com, other websites owned by Info Edge include Jeevansathi.com and 99acres.com.

During the quarter under review, revenue from recruitment solutions rose 11.6 per cent, while that earned from real estate vertical climbed 52 per cent.

"Naukri.com continues to see sluggish growth in a weak macro environment. The other, albeit smaller and newer businesses, principally 99acres.com is growing well. However, the company continues to invest for the future, across businesses and expense categories," Info Edge (India) CFO and Director Ambarish Raghuvanshi said.
