IGATE to create team that targets strategic deals, revenue rises 3.5 per cent
MUMBAI: US-listed IT services company IGATE Corporation on Wednesday reported a 3.5 per cent sequential jump in third quarter revenue and said it was creating a separate team to target strategic deals that will power future growth. Under CEO Ashok Vemuri, who took over from the scandal-plagued Phaneesh Murthy last year, IGATE has been revamping its sales structure and exiting non-core businesses and accounts. Vemuri also undertook an investment drive to bring the company on a par with its competitors, including some toplevel hires.

The company said on Wednesday it had appointed Srikanth Iyengar as senior vice-president and head of Europe and Australia. Iyengar was previously vice president and regional head of financial services for Europe at Infosys. He was also global head for business development and strategic global sourcing at the Bangalore-based company.

"We are seeing good opportunities in Europe and I am glad that Srikanth (Iyengar) has come on board," Vemuri said.
