NEW DELHI: HT Media Ltd today reported 21 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 51.58 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013 driven by higher revenues from advertising.


The company had posted a net profit of Rs 42.6 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Net sales during the quarter under review went up by 10 per cent to Rs 532.2 crore in the quarter as against Rs 483.3 crore a year ago, the company said in a BSE filing.

"Our performance has been healthy during the quarter, thanks to the growth in advertising revenue and successfully maintaining control over input costs," HT Media Chairperson and Editorial Director Shobhana Bhartia said.

HT Media's total expenses in the quarter ended June 30, 2013 were at Rs 484.81 crore, an increase of 8.91 per cent as against Rs 445.12 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

Advertising revenues went up by 10 per cent to Rs 409.5 crore in the quarter under review as against Rs 372.5 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
