Hindustan Zinc posts 24 pc net in June qtr
Vedanta group company Hindustan Zinc on Saturday posted a 24 percent jump in its net profit after tax for the quarter ended June 30 at Rs 891 crore.

NEW DELHI: Vedanta group company Hindustan Zinc on Saturday posted a 24 percent jump in its net profit after tax for the quarter ended June 30 at Rs 891 crore.
The company reported a profit after tax of Rs 719 crore in the corresponding quarter, last fiscal.
Net sales or income from operations of Hindustan Zinc rose 29 percent at Rs 1,951 crore, from Rs 1,512 crore in the same period last year, a company statement said.
Meanwhile, Hindustan Zinc and Sterlite Industries both Vedanta group companies are planning a cumulative capital expenditure of Rs 20,000 crore in the next one year to take the overall power production (captive and commercial) to 6,500 MW from the present 4,500 MW.
