Hindustan Media Ventures Q2 net profit up at Rs 22.18 cr

Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd said its net profit for the second quarter ended September 30, more than doubled to Rs 22.18 crore, compared to the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

NEW DELHI: Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd ( HMVL) today said its net profit for the second quarter ended September 30, more than doubled to Rs 22.18 crore, compared to the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

The company's net profit during the three months ended September 30, 2010, was Rs 10.73 crore, HMVL said in a filing to the BSE.

HMVL's net sales for the quarter this fiscal increased 21.61 per cent to Rs 151.43 crore, as against Rs 124.52 crore during the same period in 2010-11.

The company is engaged in the business of publishing and printing and rolls out Hindustan newspaper, Nandan and Kadambini magazines.

HMVL's scrips were trading at Rs 134.65 per share in the afternoon trade on the BSE, up 2.24 per cent from its previous close.
