GSFC posts a net profit of Rs 230.34 crore in Jan-Mar quarter

Gujarat State Fertilisers and Chemicals (GSFC) today reported 12 per cent rise in its net profit to Rs 230.34 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012.

NEW DELHI: Gujarat State Fertilisers and Chemicals (GSFC) today reported 12 per cent rise in its net profit to Rs 230.34 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 205.14 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a filing to the BSE.

The net sales of the company rose by 36 per cent to Rs 1,530 crore in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal from Rs 1,122.49 crore in the same quarter of the 2010-11 fiscal.

For the 2011-12 fiscal, the net profit of the company rose to Rs 757.57 crore from Rs 749.37 crore in the 2010-11 financial year.

The net sales of the company also increased to Rs 5,301.83 crore from Rs 4,755.05 crore in the review period.

Apart from complex fertilisers, the state-run public sector undertaking also produces and markets urea and water soluble fertilisers.

Shares of the company today rose by 0.58 per cent to settle at Rs 424 apiece from its previous close at the BSE.
