Grasim Industry Q2 net down to Rs 346 crore

NEW DELHI: Grasim Industries on Thursday said that its consolidated net profit declined to Rs 346 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2010 this fiscal.
The Aditya Birla Group company had reported a net profit of Rs 781 crore for the same quarter a year ago, Grasim Industries said in a statement.
The company said its performance for the quarter was impacted by production being halted at the company's Viscose Fibre Staple plant at Nagda for 25 days on account of the water shortage due to delayed monsoon.
During the July-September quarter, the company's net revenue declined to Rs 4,503 crore.
In the same year ago period it had registered a net revenue of Rs 4,741 crore, the statement said.
